Situated side by side, the cabins share a central fire pit area—perfect for gathering with friends and family. Traveling with a larger group? The site can also accommodate one RV (no water or electricity)—just ask for details.
Each cabin is equipped with the essentials for a comfortable off-grid stay, including its own Port-o-John, charcoal grill, front porch seating, a small indoor table with chairs, battery-operated lanterns, bedding, and a propane wall heater. You’ll want to bring your own water, towels, coolers, camp chairs, charcoal, and any additional gear needed for cooking and washing up.
Tucked just off Johnswood Road, the cabins are ideally located for outdoor adventure. Dickenson Lake is nearby for fishing and kayaking, and hundreds of acres of State land are right at your doorstep for hunting and exploring. You’re also less than half a mile from Kreetan/Glen Cove Road, connecting you to over 60 miles of ATV and ORV trails. And when it’s time to cool off, Big Shoal Beach—a local favorite for swimming and kayaking—is just down the road.

We are required to collect the following taxes: 6% Michigan Sales & Use Tax, 5% Local Room Tax, and 1% UP Tourism Tax. Taxes will be applied to the total rent, cleaning fee, and pet fee(s).
All cancelations—including Direct Bookings, Vrbo, and Airbnb—are subject to an 8% credit card processing fee, calculated based on the total amount paid at the time of cancelation.
Property Information
Payment Policies
A partial payment in the amount of 30% of the grand total is due upon booking. Remaining payment is due no later than 30 days prior to arrival. If the booking is made after [or within 0 days of when] the second payment would be due, then this payment will be combined and due together with the first payment.

Service Fees: A one-time cleaning fee is added to the cost of all rentals. The cleaning fee will be line-listed in the breakdown of costs when you make your reservation and is also posted on each home's webpage. Cleaning fees are subject to tax and assessments.
Some of our homes are pet-friendly and will allow 1 or 2 dogs within the home. If you would like to bring your dog(s) to a pet-friendly home, a fee of $50 per pet will be added to the total rental rate and will be line-listed in the breakdown of costs when you make your reservation. Pet fees are subject to tax and assessments.

Cancellation Policies:
You commit to your dates at the time of booking, there is no refund for early departure, refusal to occupy upon arrival, or no-shows.
Direct Bookings (made via the Northern Properties website, phone, or email):
- 100% refund of the amount paid, minus an 8% credit card processing fee, if the reservation is canceled at least 30 days before check-in.
- 50% refund of the total booking amount if reservation is canceled 14-30 days before check-in.
- No refund for cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival.
- All cancellations for direct bookings require written notice. Please email your cancellation request to rentals@northernproperties.com.
- Refunds are processed by Northern Properties at the end of each month.
VRBO Bookings:
- 100% refund of the amount paid, minus an 8% credit card processing fee, if the reservation is canceled at least 30 days before check-in.
- 50% refund of the total booking amount if reservation is canceled 14-30 days before check-in.
- No refund for cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival.
- Cancellations for VRBO bookings can be initiated through the VRBO platform or via email to rentals@northernproperties.com.
- Refunds are processed by Northern Properties at the end of each month. Depending on when you canceled, you may receive a separate refund directly from VRBO for their service fee.
Airbnb Bookings:
- To receive a full refund, guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in. A full refund is also available within 48 hours of booking if the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before check-in.
- If you cancel between 7 and 30 days before check-in, 50% of all nights will be charged.
- If you cancel less than 7 days before check-in, 100% of all nights will be charged.
- Cancellations must be initiated through the Airbnb platform. If you are eligible for a refund, it will be processed through Airbnb.
