Pet Policy

Pet policy and fees

  • Failure to follow our pet policy that results in excessive cleaning being required due to hair on furniture or bedding, cleaning up after your pet outside or damages caused to the home or property will be billed accordingly to the guest’s card on file.
  • Pet-friendly homes are clearly listed under the home’s amenities and each home’s webpage will specify how many dogs (1 or 2) are allowed.
  • If you would like to bring your dog(s), a fee of $50 per pet will be added to the cost of the rental. Pet fees are subject to tax.
  • We do not discriminate on pet size or breed, but we do trust that all pets staying at our homes have responsible owners.
  • We are sorry, but cats are not allowed in our rental homes.
  • All pets must be reported. If you bring a pet and do not report it (or bring more than what was reported), the card on file will be charged the required fees.
  • Pets are strictly prohibited in homes that are not listed as pet friendly. This limitation extends to any visitors you may have to the property during your stay. No exceptions, even for well-behaved, hypoallergenic, or small pets. If you bring a pet to one of these homes you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund and you will be charged a fee of $200 to return the home to pet-free condition. You may be transferred to a pet-friendly home if there is one available.
  • You must clean up after your pet, inside and out! Please bring the necessary tools to do so (shovels/bags, etc.). You will be charged if we have to clean up after your pet(s).
  • Pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture.
  • Pets are not to be left at homes alone unless they are crated.
  • Please do not let your dogs roam on neighboring property.

Service animals

Guide or leader dogs, hearing dogs, or service dogs that meet the identification and training verification requirements of Michigan law are not “Pets” and as such, are allowed at homes that are not listed as pet friendly and are not subject to a Pet Fee. However, service animals must adhere to the other guidelines that are outlined in our Pet Policy.

Service dogs must meet all ADA qualifications and be properly trained and licensed to perform the necessary tasks needed for the owner who will be at the rental home. If you will be vacationing with a service dog, please let us know at the time of booking. You will also be required to answer the following questions:

  1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
  2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform, and for whom? (You do not have to reveal your disability in formulating your answer.)

It is against the law to represent your pet as a service dog if it has not undergone the proper training and met all ADA qualifications.
