If there is one month that captures the spirit of Drummond Island, it might just be July.

One evening might find you at the Township Hall playing Baked Goods Bingo, where the prizes are homemade pies, cinnamon rolls, breads, cookies, and cakes instead of cash. It sounds quirky—and it absolutely is—but that’s part of its charm. Even better, each week’s proceeds benefit a different local nonprofit, making every bingo card another small investment in the island community.
Saturday mornings have their own rhythm. Local growers, artists, bakers, and craftspeople gather at the Farmers & Artisans Market, where visitors browse handmade goods, fresh produce, local honey, and baked treats while catching up with neighbors. It’s the kind of place where a quick stop often turns into an hour because there’s always another familiar face to visit with.
Of course, many summer days begin with adventure. Some visitors head for the ORV trail system that has made Drummond Island famous. Others launch kayaks into the clear waters, hike quiet forest trails, cast a fishing line, or simply settle into a chair overlooking the lake with a good book.
Back at the vacation homes, the pace slows. Dogs leap happily into the water, friends gather on decks overlooking the shoreline, and evenings end around a campfire beneath a sky full of stars. It doesn’t take much to create lasting memories here—just good company and a little time outdoors.
By the time the ferry pulls away at the end of a vacation, many visitors are already talking about when they’ll return. After another July up north, it’s easy to understand why.
